{"id":6157,"date":"2019-10-17T05:34:11","date_gmt":"2019-10-17T03:34:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pmrmarketexperts.com\/new-e-grocery-platform-consumer-study\/"},"modified":"2022-10-24T08:46:22","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T06:46:22","slug":"new-e-grocery-platform-consumer-study","status":"publish","type":"case-study","link":"https:\/\/pmrltd.stronazen.pl\/en\/case-study\/new-e-grocery-platform-consumer-study\/","title":{"rendered":"New e-grocery platform \u2013 consumer study"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>A leading marketing agency specialising in sales support, field marketing, and sales outsourcing services commissioned PMR to gauge <a href=\"https:\/\/pmrltd.stronazen.pl\/en\/services\/consumer-behaviour-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">consumer study<\/a> to a new online platform for grocery shopping.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Aim of research project\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pmrltd.stronazen.pl\/en\/about-pmr\/#customers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The PMR client<\/a> wanted to find out whether the platform appealed to potential users, and what changes could or should be implemented to ensure that it satisfied people\u2019s needs and expectations when it comes to everyday grocery shopping. A consumer study was called for.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>PMR method<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To fully meet the client\u2019s business challenge, the PMR project team decided to employ the<strong> focus group interview technique<\/strong>. Participants were sought among young consumers in Krakow and Warsaw. I was people who regularly purchased different products online, used Paczkomat parcel lockers to pick up orders. They were also open to innovations. They were allocated to different focus groups. It was depending on their prior experience \u2013 or lack thereof \u2013 with buying groceries on the internet. All the groups were run by an experienced facilitator. The findings were talked through with our <a href=\"https:\/\/pmrltd.stronazen.pl\/en\/industry\/retail-fmcg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">retail and FMCG<\/a> analysts. They cover the grocery retail space on a daily basis. Thanks to the qualitative method employed, the following themes and issues could be fruitfully explored in our consumer study:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>consumer habits and experiences<\/strong> with online shopping platforms (including e-grocery),<\/li>\n<li><strong>situations and reasons for using different platforms<\/strong>, and the pros and cons of using e-commerce,<\/li>\n<li><strong>attributes and features of the new e-grocery platform<\/strong> \u2013 an in-depth evaluation,<\/li>\n<li>major <strong>strengths and weaknesses<\/strong> of the platform,<\/li>\n<li><strong>possible modifications<\/strong> that would make it more attractive,<\/li>\n<li><strong>price expectations for the service.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Outcome of <a href=\"https:\/\/pmrltd.stronazen.pl\/en\/services\/consumer-behaviour-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">consumer study<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The study produced rich findings that were presented to the client in a comprehensive report. The report contained a number of recommendations and action points suggested by PMR experts. It contained also explaining the design and detailing the results.<br \/>\nThe agency received a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/pmrltd.stronazen.pl\/en\/services\/consumer-behaviour-research\/\">compendium of information on consumer behaviour<\/a> around online shopping.<\/strong> The PMR report shed valuable light on people\u2019s experiences with different e-commerce platforms. The report showed why some consumers still prefer to shop for groceries in traditional bricks-and-mortar stores. Crucially, in-depth opinions about the new e-grocery platform and its various attributes and features were elicited, and its strong and weak points identified in the eyes of potential users. Based on this, modifications and solutions were suggested to the client that might boost the platform\u2019s appeal.
